With countless LEDs illuminating the front of the building every night, the Kansas City Marriott Downtown stands as a beacon to leisure and business travelers alike in the heart of this lively Midwestern city.

The hotel consists of two distinct towers, the Marriott West Tower and the Marriott East/ Muehlebach Tower, which offer a total of 971 luxury guest rooms (after an upcoming renovation) and more than 95,000 square feet of flexible event space. Guests can connect to the Kansas City Convention Center via an underground walkway and are just steps from the Power and Light District, with shopping, great restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.

The Kansas City Marriott Downtown has 42 event rooms including an exhibition hall, two ballrooms and multiple breakout rooms. The largest event space has a capacity of up to 2,400 guests. Meeting and event services include audio-visual equipment from PSAV, high-speed wireless Internet access, a fullservice business center, catering and Marriott event operations staff—those helpful people in the red coats.

The museums, restaurants and numerous attractions in the downtown area make the hotel ideal for group events. “We are the community center of Kansas City, just steps from the Sprint Center, the Kansas City Convention Center and the Kaufman Center for the Performing Arts,” says Scott Boyer, director of sales and marketing for the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. “Not only do we host numerous group events, but our commitment to host and support many charity and community-based events and fundraisers truly make the Kansas City Marriott Downtown the heart and soul of the city.”

The Kansas City Marriott Downtown is a Marriott Convention and Resort Network (CRN) property. The Marriott CRN is a collection of 60-plus of the largest convention and resort hotels across the U.S. and the Caribbean, which have united to deliver the highest level of service to groups and planners consistently year after year.

Dining options at the hotel include a café for pastries or quick meals; Fresh Bites, 24-hour in-room dining; and BarCentral, with cocktails and a casual menu. Guests can enjoy all day service at MetropolitanKC restaurant, which serves contemporary American fare.

Property amenities include free Wi-Fi, and a 22nd-floor fitness center and indoor lap pool with views of the four iconic Sky Station sculptures by artist R.M. Fischer. The Barney Allis Plaza just across the street provides guests a green space with fountains, sculptures and seating areas. The Kansas City Marriott Downtown is on West 12th Street between Wyandotte and Central Streets, roughly 20 minutes from the Kansas City International Airport.

The Highland Lakes Region extends from Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin to 100 miles outside the city to Lake Buchanan. The chain of seven lakes formed from a series of dams along the Colorado River offer opportunities to boat, kayak, fish and swim while taking in the Texas Hill Country.

It’s a “serene environment,” says Salina McCullough, sales and programs manager at Canyon of the Eagles, “away from the hustle and bustle of the city.”

In the up-and-coming east Austin area in Texas, ARRIVE Hotels & Restaurants is building a new boutique hotel. Located on the corner of East 6th and Chicon St., this will be ARRIVE's second location. The new hotel will have 83 rooms and will open in the spring of 2019.
