Thundering onto the scene

Sacramento is buzzing over the newest addition to its entertainment and lodging scene.

Thunder Valley Casino, in the suburban community of Lincoln, this week morphed into a full-fledged resort with the unveiling of an expansion that includes a new 300-room hotel, a 12,000-square foot spa, a 3,500-square-foot pool-and, of course, expanded gaming space.

All but lost in the hoopla is news of more interest to meeting planners: For a limited time, Thunder Valley is offering complimentary event space to contracted groups who book 10 or more rooms per night and purchase $1,000 or more in food and beverage.

The resort's extensive meeting and event spaces, which range from 1,000 to 10,000 square feet, can accommodate intimate groups or giant gatherings at indoor and outdoor venues. Find more info on their website.
