Marcela Ceccacci grew up traveling with her parents and fell in love with the idea of working in hotels. That way, her career could take her anywhere in the world.

“I wasn’t sure where I wanted to live when I grew up, since I was fortunate enough to spend summers in Italy and winter breaks in Buenos Aires,” says Ceccacci. “I decided that pursuing a career in hospitality would be the best route for me.”

After college, Ceccacci worked in room operations with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, where she was part of the opening team for the Park Hyatt Toronto. She then dove into revenue management and, finally, sales. “I’ve been in sales for more than 12 years and it feels just like yesterday,” she says. “I love it!”

In August 2016, Ceccacci joined the Westin Galleria Dallas as director of sales and marketing, where she relishe s being in the heart of the DFW metroplex. “I truly believe we have the best location in the market, and being anchored by the Galleria Mall doesn’t hurt either,” Ceccacci says.

The Westin Galleria Dallas hosts up to 350 groups a year, in addition to catering-only events, giving Ceccacci the chance to show off the hotel’s fully renovated 54,000 square feet of event space. “It has a fresh, new, modern look our customers can be proud of when hosting their events,” she says. “I love guiding people and seeing their events reach peak potential. I look forward to my future in the industry, and I know I will continue meeting great people along the way.”

The Highland Lakes Region extends from Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin to 100 miles outside the city to Lake Buchanan. The chain of seven lakes formed from a series of dams along the Colorado River offer opportunities to boat, kayak, fish and swim while taking in the Texas Hill Country.

It’s a “serene environment,” says Salina McCullough, sales and programs manager at Canyon of the Eagles, “away from the hustle and bustle of the city.”

In the up-and-coming east Austin area in Texas, ARRIVE Hotels & Restaurants is building a new boutique hotel. Located on the corner of East 6th and Chicon St., this will be ARRIVE's second location. The new hotel will have 83 rooms and will open in the spring of 2019.
